Jack W. Cunningham has practiced law for over 25 years, principally in the areas of estate planning and probate, family law, business formation, business disputes, business litigation, and real estate.
Mr. Cunningham brings seasoned legal experience along with a strong work ethic and a caring heart to all the clients he serves.
Mr. Cunningham has lived in Texas his entire life. After growing up in Odessa, Texas, he moved to College Station and earned a Certificate of Technology degree from the Institute of Electronic Science at Texas A&M University Extension Center. He then moved to Houston and worked for two large corporations. He also attended Houston Baptist University in Houston, earning his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Business Studies. At HBU, he served as the President of the Pre-Law society, made the National Dean’s List, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University School of Law where he earned his doctor of jurisprudence degree and attended the Rawls College of Business where he earned his master of business administration degree. While attending law school, he served as the editor of the Legal Research Board and received the prestigious Amjur Award for legal research and legal analysis. Mr. Cunningham also worked as a law clerk for the City of Lubbock, where he gained experience researching title and tax records for code enforcement, and assisted with ongoing legal matters in the City Attorney’s office.
After graduating law school in 1994, Mr. Cunningham moved to Austin and joined the Law Office of Forest D. Cook as an associate attorney, where he gained considerable expertise serving individuals and businesses in family law, real estate, estate planning and probate, and commercial and consumer litigation matters.
In March of 2000, he joined the law firm of Steve R. Campos, P.C. Two years later Mr. Cunningham established Jack W. Cunningham, P.C., and formed Campos & Cunningham, LLP, bringing their considerable experience together in one firm. In 2005, the firm was featured in Austin Lawyers: A Legacy of Leadership and Service (Association Publishing Company, 2005).
In September of 2007, Mr. Cunningham joined The Fowler Law Firm, P.C., a mid-sized firm, also in Austin, Texas. While there, he continued to serve clients in the areas identified above and supported the lead school law attorney in representing school districts and associations. He also managed the implementation and training of attorneys and support staff on the firm’s law practice management software.
In March of 2010, Mr. Cunningham re-opened his own firm as Jack W. Cunningham, P.C., and has represented hundreds of individuals and businesses from that time. Mr. Cunningham’s knowledge, understanding, and expertise from varied fields bring a unique perspective to his legal representation of and advocacy for his clients.
Mr. Cunningham now resides in Denton, Texas, and practices law throughout the North Texas area.
